Eye Donation

Recently we have organized an eye care awareness drawing competition on the topic 'Sight is enough' for middle school students (VI,VII & VIII standard) at Madurai. One important observation was majority of the students had chosen to draw on the concept of Eye Donation. Even some of the students drew the concept of Kannappa Nayanar who was considered as the first eye donor to 'Lord SIVA' in our ancient Hindu religious literature 'Periya Puranam'.

Vision

Vision is very important for our daily activities. Yet many people suffer different kinds of visual problems or eye diseases. Some can be cured either by medicine or by surgical correction.

The following are the main reasons for blindness:

- Ignorance
- Self medication
- Lack of knowledge

Timely treatment prevent visual loss.
